Alvin Mitchell recovering well after incident.

Former basketball standout, Alvin Mitchell, is recovering well at his home in Miami, FL after a shooting incident last fall left him fighting for his life. After his stay in the hospital, Alvin visited a team practice one more time before returning home to start his rehabilitation. According to his family and friends, "he is doing very well considering what had happened." He is doing steady work on the bike and has even returned to casually shooting some hoops on the court. BECKLEY — For the second time this season, Mountain State coach Bob Bolen has been honored with a national coach of the year award. Bolen was named the Basketball Times NAIA national coach of the year by the magazine, considered a must-read publication in coaching circles.
